And the programmer laid its hands on the keyboard and he/she created… life!
I’m very passionate about software development in all of its aspects, from management, architecture, design, up to coding but especially connecting and listening to business stakeholders. Focussing strongly on creating lean & clean architecture + code, while adhering to software craftmanship.
Delivery-first, no-nonsense, solution-oriented, result-driven, “let’s get this done” mindset, where getting my hands dirty is part of the game.
Strong believer and practioner of Agile methodologies and end-to-end self-steering (business) capability teams, working in a DevOps mindset. Yet still having the ability to translate the Agile bubble to a Waterfall view.
360° view on the practice of Architecture, both at the level of creating & steering a digital & strategic transformation, while still keeping in sync with realism and the business ambition. A good, healthy mix of Enterprise Architecture skills combined with “going deep”, pausing at Solution Architecture level, but if need be, reaching into Software Architecture and even code.
In working with the business, I’m a big fan of putting the emphasis on the Domain of the business and use lean techniques like EventStorming to discover/learn business concepts. Not fixating on technology helps to clearly see and focus on the business problem.
Natural leader and able to balance between being compassionate and firm when leading teams. Adopting a passive servant attitude and providing guidance, while still keeping the end-goal into account.
And although not my primary focus anymore, I still love & know how to code in .NET, JavaScript/node.js & Python (Django), but I’m not limited to these languages. Therefore I’m not afraid to venture into new languages & adventures to keep expanding my horizon.
Addict of old skool 2D games and actively developing some insane “killer arcade”-like classics set to be released somewhere in the near future.
Always open to embrace new initiatives and constantly on the lookout to improve myself and the people around me.
Deep respect for the Open Source/Free Software community.
